Pi day update

Fahnestock will open for skiing Wednesday March 15 after 12noon. Limited terrain will be open due to debris and general cleanup. Received 17″ of snow(!) and it was still snowing at the time of report.

Minnewaska closed trails for today per User county emergency declaration, and has not groomed in order to let water drain out of the snowpack. Check with them Wednesday, hit up their website, or subscribe to the Mid Hudson Valley Cross Country Ski Google group.

Mohonk trails are open with limited grooming and no tracks.

High Point has not as yet posted an update. Likelihood is they got enough snow, but could also have had high winds causing blowdown and other mishaps.

There will be a system coming through the northeast on Friday, and the downstate region will see light rain showers throughout the day. The north country may have snow showers mixed in, but it will likely change over to rain during the evening. Despite that, where enough snow fell early in the week, there can still be some decent skiing on the weekend.

Advice: Carpe ski’em.
