I’ve always felt winter is a magical season. Winter is a quiet season, and being outside during a snowfall makes you listen harder. Cross-country skiing allows me to enjoy it for hours at a time.
At its most elemental, skiing is just about moving over snow, faster and farther than you can on foot. A snow-covered trail and the intensity and focus of skiing open a path to a state of flow. So each winter I make journeys across the snow line.
This blog started as an experiment in learning WordPress, and is now a project to map data that helps me answer the question: “if I have a chance to go skiing, where would I go?”. Occasionally I post some other random commentary about Nordic skiing.
