Summary: When even Prospect Mountain gets rain enough to close, it’s pretty bad. But the heroes at Notchview say ‘never give up’ and declare 1k tracked and groomed, albeit with interruptions of bare ground or ice. Lapland Lake kept 5k open.

In the north country, resorts managed to keep a many trails open, but a word of caution: temperatures are dropping rapidly, resulting in icing on trails and roads. skiing and driving will be hazardous until dealt with by grooming and road safety crews.

Forecast: daytime temperatures across the northeast will range from the low 30s to upper 40s during the first part of the week, before dropping to more seasonable temps by the end of the week. Some patchy snow could arrive by midweek.
