It’s going to be an amazing classic day and maybe a little bit of extra work for skaters. We just can’t seem to make it stop snowing and we’re sorry about that.

Despite that, spring temps are on the way back, so bring the Maxiglide and get it while you can!
This post is about conditions for Apr. 5 2024. See jump links to Conditions and Forecast.
Conditions
BETA report of 4/4 says there’s a brief return to winter with 10–14″ of new, heavy, wet snow, and “Given how dense this snow is, pretty much any trail has enough cover to be skiable – provided one is willing to break trail.”
Likewise for some other areas reporting conditions- wet, sticky snow, soft for skating but nice for classic. We’ve been given a parting gift from Old Man Winter and Mother Nature, and it sets up for a nice last weekend.Hit up ‘State of the touring centers‘ or in the menu above for reported conditions as of today, because not all areas are grooming but have opened trails for those willing to ski them ‘as-is’.
Over the past two days the storm delivered a whopping 2′ of snow to the higher elevations of the Green Mountains, and 12″ or more across a good part of northern New England and the Adirondacks.

Snow depth graphic below looks pretty similar to the one posted on March 24.

Forecast
Temps will get very warm in the week to come, so I think the fat guy will be coming out to sing the end of the season next week.

Thanks for reading- it’s sure been an intersting way to finish out the season.
