Happy Thanksgiving weekend

Breaking in a new season of reports and forecasts!

Summary

Craftsbury has a few kilometers of manmade snow open. Mount Van Hoevenberg has the snow guns going and plans to open on the 26th.

Forecast

Mixed precipitation starts coming into the Finger Lakes and Tug Hill on Thanksgiving, but will turn over to rain.

By Friday, decreasing temps mean snow showers could be happening across the Adirondacks and Southern Tier, Vermont and New Hampshire. When the precipitation ends on Saturday, there could be variable accumulation from a trace to several inches. No joy expected for folks south of the Albany-MA line.

Covid Note

Cases are rising throughout the Northeast and New England, as people go back indoors. Vermont’s case rate percentage is actually higher than NYC’s at this time. Let’s be careful out there.

Miscellany

Anyone who’s used the Trailhub app in the past (many New England ski ares have been participating their ski trail reports via that service) will find the operation has changed hands. The app is no more, but the web-based service seems at least as functional.
