Today marks Mt. van Hoevenberg’s final day for XC skiing, marking the last closure of this season. For the past couple of weeks only the Competition trails have been usable. Gore Mountain Nordic trails were probably skiable to about the beginning of the month, but TBH I stopped keeping track in late March when the last of the natural-snow centers closed up for the season.
I might do a bit of analysis between centers that have supplemental snow capabilities (snow making or snow farming) in contrast to those that rely on natural snow only, to see what difference it makes in consistency and length of their seasons.
Time to prep those skis for storage. Thanks for reading.
