There are three options for the downstat4 XC skier:
- High Point, which is open but not well groomed, so they aren’t charging trai fes
- Minnewaska State Park Preserve, where conditions are descirbd by park manager as ‘good to excllent’
- Mohonk, which has rolled and packed trails but no tracks.
That’s pretty good for this day in the season! Given the cold weather this weekend, provided you wear the right clothing, it should be some nice skiing.

How’s the skiing in general?
Several inches of new snow fell in the northern Greens and Whites, and a bountiful amount of lake effect snow fell in the Tug Hill and parts of Central NY state.

Forecast
Lght snow and lake effect snow through Thursday night into Friday morning, with weather advisories for Central NY and thee Tug Hill, and some possible light accumulation in the northern Green and White Mtns. Gusty winds and cold temperatures are expected thgough the first part of the weekend.
Dry and frigid weather for the first part of next week. Temps will warm up for Wednesday, with highs close to or above freezing even in the north. As systems from the west and south mix, possible ight snow showers accompany the shift in winds and some light snow could fall in the NYC metro, mainly to the west of the city.

Wednesday’s temps will be a. brief reprive from the below-average temperatures we’re gtting right now. Outllook for snow late next week is uncertain.
