How’s the skiing in general?
Definitely something in the mountains. BETA report of 11/18 reports some skiable trails. Of the groomed touring centers, only Trapp Family Lodge has more than a few kilometers open. Rikert takes the early bird award with having a bit of trail open by the 12th.

Pretty thin cover overall, but the higher terrain above 2500′ could have several inches even now. Will it hold, and will the frosty Thanksgiving give skiers an opportunity to burn off that stuffing? Read on for the forecast.
Forecast
Spotty light snow and rain expected across a broad swath of northern NY and New England in the latter half of this weekend, with possible accumulation of a couple of inche of snows in the mountains. Rain in the southern and coastal areas likely.

The north country could see some light showers on Tuesday. Colder air expected to arrive Wednesday evening on gusty winds, so rain could convert over to snow. Thursday looks to be markedly colder than earlier in the midweek, and freezing of rain in the north could mean a travel advisory on Thanksgiving.
The NYC metro region will have mild weather for the next few days, with some spotty showers tonight and early next week. Thanksgiving looks to be drier than up north.
- Northern Mountains: Expect frequent snow showers and mixed precipitation, especially on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Windy conditions are likely, especially on exposed summits.
- Northern Lowlands: Slightly milder, with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s, lows in the mid 20s to low 30s. Rain is more likely than snow, but mixed precipitation is possible, especially at night and early mornings.
- Snow Accumulation: Mountains may see some snow, especially on Sunday and Tuesday. Lowlands may see slushy accumulations or just rain, depending on temperature swings.
- Southern areas and coastal: mostly mild te,ps. some rain showers Saturday and Wednesday possible. Thanksgiving Day will be cool and dry.
