One more snowfall: conditions for March 30, 2025

For die-hards willing to drive to New Hampshire, there’s some new snow that didn’t get freezing rain on top.

How’s the skiing in general?

Surprise! decently skiable conditions in the White Mountains, possibly through midweek. Accumulations further west in nrothern Vermont and NY have gotten some freezing rain as well, so it’s a bit crusty this morning. A few places were grooming up through today, but don’t count on things holding up past this week given the weather.

A broad swath of the fart north received over 4″ of snow. Touring centers willing to put in the time and effort to make it into April have something to work with. Nighttime temps in the far north will be below freezing, so there’s a possibility to have the base transition to corn snow instead of just melting off.

Forecast

A brief return to winter temps on Tuesday yieds to more springlike conditions for the rest of the week. Alternating periods of preciptation and drier weather, with some chance of snow for the north country Wednesday night. Chances of precipittation are higher up north than in the NYC metro area. The bullets follow:

  • Today-Monday: Warm front moves in from the south, increasing temperatures up the river valleys today, from west to east, with rain likely up north.
  • Tuesday -Thursday: Drier and colder for early in the week, then precipitation again likely up north on late Wednesday and into Thursday. Colder temps at night could mean a changeover from rain to snow.
  • Friday-Saturday: Weather dries out again for later in the week.
