Minnewaska heroes on the job

Some quick updates:

  • Minnewaska opened today (Tuesday) and groomed out the trails. Limited tracksetting. Conditions good to very good.
  • High Point trails are closed due to icy trails. Advanced skiers only.
  • Mohonk trails are closed for skiing.

Another list: if you happen to be up north what do I love about snow besides the skiing?

  • Snowplows and front-loaders
  • Carports
  • Heated seats
  • A small snow shovel in your trunk (to dig out a door in order to get the big snow shovel)

How’s the skiing?

When was the last time snow was so abundant it caused closures of more than a day at ski touring centers? OK, this happens regularly in the Sierras and Cascades, but this is the New York and New England. Only the Tug Hill gets that amount of snow right?

A few photos shows how nice the trails are shaping up:

Looks pretty awesome! Updated ‘State of the touring centers‘ again (2nd time in two days) to keep up with changes.

Let's go skiing!
