If you’re itchy because you haven’t gotten enough winter this season, hope you haven’t stripped the wax and prepped the skis for storage yet. Old Man Winter might not be done yet.
Conditions
What’s there to say? I think the Nordic Director at Waterville Valley said it best in the Director’s Diary entry for March 20, ‘CANDLE IS STILL BURNING’:
This week mother nature has been flirting with us a bit, dropping an inch or so out there. Wednesday night there’s a chance for another 1-3” of snow, which might make a few trails ski-able, but not groom-able.

Forecast
In addition to cooler and blustery weather for the weekdays, multiple systems from different directions will conmbine to bring several inches of wet snow in the Adireondacks and central to northern Vermont. The White mountains could get some as well. Chances of all snow are greater for higher elevations, while the valleys could see some rain at times.
A preliminary snowfall total through 8 AM Saturday does show widespread 5 to 7 inches across

northern New York, with similar values possible farther east by the time precipitation winds down midday.
The storm will be over sometime Saturday. Sunday should be drier, and weather will begin to warm for the beginning of next week.

Regarding the expected system, another slice from the Waterville Valley Nordic Director:
If all goes well, we might have something snowmobile groomed by Sunday/Monday. I don’t usually like to prophesize this many days out, but it’s more fun than storage waxing skis!
