The good news: a storm did go through the northeast (USA) and drop as much as 8″ of snow on the northern higher elevated areas.
The bad news: it was heavy wet snow, and the weather turned warmer, with some rain for those northern areas as well.
Result: touring centers that had been open late last week are closed for the day waiting for the snow to dry out and weather to get colder. That includes Crafstubury, Paul Smith’s VIC, Garnet Hill Lapland Lake, and the two Osceola ski touring areas.
Mt. van Hoevenberg soldiers on with 1k of madmade snow, and Trap Family Lodge has barely 2k open for skiing, while grooming and trail cleaning is in progress.

There’s hope for more precipitation later this week.
