Tug Hill and the High Peaks have decent cover and lower temps coming late in the weekend, plus some possible snowfall on Sunday, promise a recovery to better skiing.
This post is about conditions for Feb. 1, 2023, and forecast for the next few days. See jump links to Conditions and Forecast.
Conditions
Hopes for snow faded as weather warmed and rain arrived across much of the area. This prompted Jackson XC to close trails for the weekend, to preserve the base for a better day, possibly Sunday. Other areas hope the thin base will get a bit better from whatever falls.

Forecast
The weekend will bring som snow in the far north, with rain in southern New York and New England. Temperatures will be cool, even a bit wintery, and cool down a bit in the latter half of the week.
Toward the end of next week there could be some real snow fall- or not, as temperatures may also warm up a bit. There’s a long time before then, so the forecast is likely to change. Stay tuned.
